Welcome Back!

Whether you have been away from the Catholic Church for a long time or a little while, it doesn’t matter; we welcome you back and want you to know there’s a place for you at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

Life can take some crazy turns, and a person can become overwhelmed or discouraged by their circumstances and lose their connection to the Mass and the sacraments, intentionally or without giving it much thought. Life goes on, and time passes. The good news is that God never stops loving us. God always welcomes us back.  If you think that the best thing for you at this time in your life is to return to the practice of your Catholic faith and reception of the sacraments, we are here to help you.

If your being away was caused by someone associated with the Catholic Church, we are sorry. Please don’t allow that individual or their actions to stand between you and the God who loves you.

How to Return to the Sacraments

You may be wondering how to return to the practice of your faith. You’ve already taken the first step by coming to our parish website. If you stopped attending Mass and receiving the sacraments on your own, you can make a good confession and resume receiving the sacraments.  If you are divorced (whether you were married in the Church or not) and have not re-married, you can return to the sacraments through a good confession. Confessions are heard at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturdays from 3:00-4:00 PM and on the Thursday before First Friday from 6:30-8:00 PM or by appointment with one of our priests. Here is a simple guide to help you make a good confession.

If you want to talk with a priest first, please call our parish office (440-238-5555) and make an appointment.

If you are married or re-married outside of the Church, please call our parish office (440-238-5555) and make an appointment with someone who can help you.

If you were baptized in the Catholic Church, but were not confirmed or did not receive First Communion, please call the parish office (440-238-5555) and ask to speak with someone who can help you prepare for these sacraments.

Whatever your circumstances, welcome back! God loves you, and we love you!
